The Lonely Broken Heart

Contributed by Essentially9 on Sunday, 8th May 2005 @ 08:21:32 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

The Lonely Broken Heart

The coldness
Of my loneliness
Starts to freeze within
In the unconsecrated sin.

The blood drops evaporate
With an end to my pain
For just today.

The tears just glisten
As they consummate sin
In lasting bitterness.

Yet, the coldness
Doesn't freeze my loneliness
In the tears of happiness;
It freezes my heart of bitterness.

I liked it... to me it sounds like a poem about the after thoughts of suicide... how someone would have been happy to do it for one reason or another but then thought they shouldn't have but it was too late and they died before they could have a nervous breakdown about it... but thats just what i got from it... I just like looking deeper into a poem than whats just written...

Jen a remarkable write with so much more behind the lines. Your writing is so unique in style. So little words used, but alot said. Still I think there is more to it.
*hugs*

Poetry well crafted and yet very human in it's

depiction of the hunger posessed by the one

who crafted it, your heart is showing . . .

Don't like the cold? It's my favorite time of year--when it's cold--and i think the cold does that same thing to me. It's not that it stops me from being lonely, but rather keeps me from being bitter. This reminds me so, so, so much of the first poem that I ever wrote. Not in style or simplicity, though, but rather simply subject matter. Words cannot describe how much i enjoyed this one, and I love it that much more each time I re-read it. I have nothing more to say except that it was excellent and tasted divine : P
