The clown wakes up to a new day
He puts on his makeup
He wears a big painted smile
As he faces the crowd
And they laugh
Deep inside
It rain tears
In a void of vacuum
Where darkness shines
There is no laughter
Sometimes the tears overflow
They tear up the makeup
The darkness shines through
But the crowd don’t see it
And they laugh
The day is soon over
The clown wash away his makeup
He looks into the mirror
Sees the truth behind the paint
There is no laughter

Awww, this is sad.
Masks are a big thing I've noticed. I am sure we all hide behind them somehow, I know I do. We all pretend. We all have our happy faces.
It is very sad.
(And clowns scare me. lol)
Great write,
The thought is really good.
