My grandfather was big and strong yet was a gentle and quietly spoken man with a deep faith, and everyone that I have spoken to about him has nothing but the best of things to say about him. He was greatly admired by those who knew him (and still is)
I always knew there had to be a true poet somewhere in the family, now I know who it was :)
Tapadh leat
Thou art my love in the night
And in the morning my delight.
How long have I despised thee,
Unknown to me, Thy love was free.
When on the brink of sheer despair,
A promise from Thy presence came;
The loved one of my heart is He,
His wings of mercy covered me.
Oh! Calvary with all Thy Glory,
A tale of grief, a sad sad story.
And conquering to the last degree
It's there I saw Thy love to me.
Bleeding on a cursed tree
There was none to comfort me;
Lifted for the world to see,
The Lamb of God, He died for me.
Encompassed by his daring foes,
He bowed his head, His blood to pour;
Their claims of conquest, but short lived,
It was the King of Glory's victory.
Thy finished work O King of Glory,
Made me come to Thee to seek my portion
Willing to come to the well of mercy,
For cleansing of my great pollution.
O sad the sight, but Glory Glory,
The Eternal King survived the storm,
And with triumphant cry of free
He vanquished all his enemies.
The mystery great of Patmos Vision,
Who can explain the exposition,
The time will come, all eyes will see,
Thy saints shall gather all to thee.
O! happy saints, they shall pass on,
To a land thats fair Eternal Home
The ransome paid, the fare is free,
They'll sing his praise, fair melody.

Beautiful words of love and deep faith.
What a wonderful legacy to have from your grandfather, a part of him this moment in his life, which changed his future his mind and spirit. May his words not go untouched to any other spirit but to reborn and fulfil one with joy and love as he had found. This will for sure will make his words come alive and live on.
Love
