The Pretty Little Painted Doll

Pretty Little Painted Doll,
Made of flesh and blood,
Tears of salt water running,
down flushed cheeks covered in mud.
So beautiful to mother,
And to those who hold her close...
Pretty because she's developed naturally,
A masterpiece of God's great earth.
Pretty Little Painted Doll.

Pretty Little Painted Doll.
Watches her friends so jealously.
Questioning her maker,
Their forms are so perfect,
Why can't that be me?
Chest so flat and hips so small,
Formed so scrawny,
She doesn't have a figure at all,
Pretty Little Painted Doll.

Pretty Little Painted Doll.
Grown up enough to make her own mistakes.
Decides that it's time to so something about
Natures mistake.
See the doctor,
Now he'll do it right,
And he and she, and those who love her
best...
Will be the only ones,
Who will know it is fake.
Pretty Little Painted Doll.

Pretty Little Painted Doll,
Made of plastic and silicon.
Pretty painted on smile,
Teeth as white as chalk.
So beautiful to everyone (What does
it matter the tears her mother and dear
ones shed?)
Pretty because she was made that way,
After several surgeries and nights
spent in a hospital bed.
Pretty Little Painted Doll.
