Familiar memories make me think back when
Trivial memories how much more can I pretend
Without you with me I can’t take control
Where I go life will take its toll
I tried to continue like you did not exist
I cried as my heart had already been kissed
All I beg is that heart will somehow mend
The truth masquerades itself in my world of self pretend
People remind me that life “just goes on”
Yet I’m walking this path so alone
Are you asking the same question as me
It’s scratched on your wrists and on my heart
Did we make a mistake now we are apart
I tried to continue like you did not exist
I cried as my heart had already been kissed
All I beg is that heart will somehow mend
The truth masquerades itself in my world of self pretend
I never meant to hurt your soul or destroy my spirit
I just cannot face this life alone
I did not mean to be so angry and jealous
But who am I to condone?
I tried to continue like you did not exist
I cried as my heart had already been kissed
All I beg is that heart will somehow mend
The truth masquerades itself in my world of self pretend
