Stitch in Time ( an IQ Epic tale )

Contributed by Nazmythian on Saturday, 7th May 2005 @ 02:37:50 PM in AEST
Topic: group

Stitch in Time ( a YPDC group effort )

There are those who will not understand
The complexities of IQ land
Those in the know are sure to grasp
The enormity of this great task

See, we have lost one of our fold
Of our quest for her, these tales are told
Sent through out space and time, again
We search for Stitch, whom we call friend

Timebot was sent into time furthest back
By name she seemed best suited to this task

Into the Valley of the Kings
Looking for Stitchy back to bring
3000 BC was the year
And I didn't find her here.

The tombs were empty of her too
Robbed of treasures gold and blue
Stitch was nowhere to be found
Even though I looked all around
...Timebot ( Jules )

Kie Kie was to search the eighties age
Through the musical hotspots that were the rage

We're looking all around
Seeking out our Stitchy fair
Going back in time
Hoping to find her there

David Bowie on the radio
Pat Benetar concert up ahead
We're looking so desperately
Stitchy tell us you're not dead
....Kie Kie ( Keila )

Baronhawks search took another direction
He thought to try a different dimension

Stepping through the haze, the portal between worlds
I begin my errant search, for Stitch's lost soul
to the Wasteland Cafe, in the realm of the grey
at the edge of twilight, where half-formed shadows play.

I browsed dour tables, where sits spirits of despair
caroused dejected dance floors ,as despondent debutantes stares
endlessly I trudge, through the endless twisting corridors
as the raven's mocking laughter, mocks me more and more
... Baronhawk ( Hazlan )

Thinking of Jonah and fish in the water
Jecks went to Wales in an effort to spot her

In Burry Port upon the coast
I watched them land among the host
Then smiling she did step from plane
With jumpsuit that could drive insane.

I pushed and shoved till I was near
To catch a glimpse and still my fear
Yet ample though the suit was filled
Just not the curves that we all thrilled
... Jecks ( Phil )

Even the Amazon was to be inspected
By Blowfish Jane who returned much dejected

I run high and low in search for our beloved friend,
Swim the piranha-infested waters till no end,
So that you’ll know our friendship is true,
Knowing it’s all worth it cause we all miss you.

I won’t rest till we get you back in IQ land,
Now don’t be scarred cause I’ll be there to hold your hand,
I’ll make you’re worries and fears disappear,
Cause your friends who love you will always be near
... Blowfish Jane ( Jane )

The Bahamaha’s, St Thomas, and ports in between
Was where Freckle had gone to find Stitch wasn’t seen

I leave IQ with only a quest
To search for Stitch, like all the rest
In Tropics fair, with sunny skies
Escorted by Pygmies, with hungry eyes

I brave the wrath of a hurricane
Alas my search has been in vain
For while upon these bright white beaches
No Stitch is found, only sandy breeches!
... Freckle ( Carol )

Into Middle Earth Fiondruinne was sent
To find Aragorn, thought to be a sure bet

I searched upon a wild and windy day
And found myself in Rivendell
Among the halls of somber Elven gray
I hoped to find my friend, alive and well.

Before me, two Elven lords stood silent
I bowed to them. “Hast thou seen our Stitch, pray tell?
I think she seeketh Aragorn.” The Elven eyes glint
And then they said: “silivren penna míriel…”
... Fiondruinne ( Andrew )

Naz thought of her love for a mustang that’s fast
And searched through the west of Americas past

Since no one knows when The West was won
I thought maybe Stitch went to see it done
I saw Billy, and Jessie, and Doc Holiday
And a lady they’d named Calamity Jane

When Annie Oakley grabbed up her gun
I thought for sure my time had came
While stories abound of her rescue type fame
Nobody there knew of Stitchy by name
... Nazmythian ( Scott )

Silent_No_More heard the music above
And searched for the source of the music Stitch loves

With my mind full of Stitchylike thoughts
I considered the places that she might get lost
It was but a moment before I thought I knew
So I dressed in all white and took to the blue

For where, but in heaven, does an angel belong?
With a new choir perhaps, she was singing along
So I checked every cloud, under each set of wings
But I found only her halo (with a couple of dings!)
... Silent No More ( Snemmy )

King Arthur, Lancelot, and Queen Guinevere
Lostinmyself was sent to search here

I wandered off to seek and find,
The whereabouts of a friend of mine,
And I came to see, she may have flown,
To Camelot, and King Arthur's throne.

And so I went to see the king,
Who found the whole thing baffling,
The lady Stitch had been and gone,
With not a word to anyone
... Lostinmyself ( Phil )

The last one to leave with the greatest of tasks
If Stitch kissed the Blarney, Jarred must bring her back

Mayhap . . . oh dear! Mayhap . . . I feared!
The eloquence of Stitch might have disappeared.
So, with urgency, in earnest, I decided to flee,
To Emerald Isle’s Blarney Stone in 1590.

I arrived with hope, and in Village Hall called a meeting:
“From the future, I am, as is she whom I’m seeking.
She is lost and is missed and is Stitch to the core.
I beseech you, do tell me if she knocks on your door.”

And all through the Cork village I searched, making sure to inquire:
“Have you heard a plaintive voice from the New World, young Squire?
Or, perchance, did any denizen catch sight of an American kiss?”
But, alas, no nods and no sightings, just sighs for a mission amiss
... Blue Gusto ( Jarred )

Alas, all our searching was to no avail
All came back to the lodge, feeling they'd failed

She returned when the lodge was all emptied out
And left us this note so there would be no doubt

Now by God’s grace, I travel along
to me He has given a whole new song
words to stir this poet’s heart
So, dear friends, although we part

I stop to tip my hat to you
You’ve each one touched me
through and through
Our time together has meant so much
so please, let’s always
keep in touch
... Stitch

And so start to finish this tale is told
In the hope of the place in our hearts she does hold
Would be known unto her and we'll welcome her back
For without her there is something IQ surely lacks

( Many thanks to all involved ... I could not have done this alone and thank you Stitch, for the cameo appearance )

Wow! PICTURES! (I wasn't expecting that.) Looks like we all did a bang-up job and owe Scott our thanks for rendering the whole as one work. Nice job!
(And Stitch, I hope whatever you're working on or spending your time on goes very well. IQ misses you.)

*reads, while seated in her favorite chair there before the fireplace in IQ's library*

*smiles*

*sighs*

It is, I suppose, with mixed emotions that I read this. I cannot help but smile for thinking of all of the IQers who ventured out and saw fit to contribute a few lines here (a few lines from each that are decidedly - them, I might add). And I cannot help by feel warmed by the thought of one (Nazzy) who first had the idea, put it into motion and then drew it all together so fabulously - with nothing but kindness and friendship having been the inspirator for doing so.

But, alas... some part of me cannot overlook the change that has happened in IQ and the knowing that it just isn't - nope, not - the same without our Stitchy. *sigh*

So then --- happily, appreciatively, and a bit sadly,
~Snem~
(who applauds all, thanks Nazzy and misses Stitch)

I dare say that this is a masterpiece, a collage of works that is impressive not soo much in its technical execution but in the fact that it is started by a gentle soul (Nazzy) for a dear friend (Stitch) and continued upon by a bunch of souls that I am proud to have known (The IQ'ers). If nothing else it is a fine tribute to a dear friend and more so it is the embodiment of the spirit of friendship and care. It is my honour to have known you all and indeed a pleasure to have know Stitch. To the rest I wish ye all the best and know that you have always my admiration and indeed if I might pierce my emotional armour, my deepest affection. To Stitch, where ever you journey takes you, bon chance! I for one will be missing you.A great deed indeed dear Nazzy (Scott) for such is the impetous that you have led us on upon this great task. I salute you for your efforts and indeed your facility with friendship. To all my greatest respects, may the light of friendship shine to all the separate destinations in which we are all bound to. In darkness and in light, upon the brightest days or darkest nights.

Words are not enough to express the love that happened here. What a loving heart felt reaching out. What wonderful friends to Stitch you are; and she is so blessed to have you as friends.

Wow,

Will

I am left in utter enchantment, and blinded by this brilliant talent that shines here... seven times more brighter than day... All of you are so dear and kind, to have created and contributed to such a heart-warming and tear-provoking proclaimation of love and friendship... My heart, respect, and admiration goes out to all of you!!

Cheri Stitchy, though I know you not,
I felt in my heart to sacrifice, oh so willingly, a little ingredient to this friendly pot...

I searched through the outskirts of Europe,
Within the great walls of La Louvre in Paris,
To the tips of Yamantau Mountain in Russia...
High and low I scrutinized, asking every native if they had seen a poetress named Stitch...
All in vain, oh such woe grasped my heart,
So many have searched, to the ends of the Earth it seems,
For this precious weaver of poetic dreams...
Without her, this family is incomplete,
With arms wide open, we shall welcome her,
Whenever she decides to return, reunite, and complete our vast family...

A flawless epic tale dedicated to an extroardinary individual, whom many love and admire. Divine images, divine poets/poetesses, divine family. I enjoyed this piece very much, and hope Stitch returns soon! All my love to you all. Forever,

Your dear friend/fan,

Stephy! *who is very proud to know each and every one of you!*

I just stopped by for a second and saw this... I can't think of anyone more deserving of your respect and admiration than Stitch. She is a woman of class and honor and one whom I am proud to call my great friend. My hat's off you all of you for taking the time and effort to make her aware of your feelings for her, this is just beautiful.

That's supposed to read " My hat's off to all of you". A million words I've put to paper and I STILL can't type worth a damn

A great epic indeed this is! it is wonderful to see the strength and daring of our good IQ crew, and to know that timeless quests are not beyond our capabilities.

Without our Stitch, I cannot see how such brotherhood and courage could exist. hats off to her (and break out the riesling for good measure).
