Farther Away From Me

Contributed by Kaya-chan on Saturday, 7th May 2005 @ 09:46:55 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

trapped here in the past
I look desperately for an exit
a way out of here to the present
my voice cries out to you
but you can't hear me
you're deaf to my screams
pale and afraid I reach for the light
but it just pulls away
farther away
won't you please hear me
open your eyes
see me lying here
pouring regret and betrayal from many wounds
darkness consumes me
memory by memory
day by day
the weaker I become
waiting for you to hear the scream
you just close your eyes and turn away
blind to all outside your own world
struggling I reach for the hand extended in salvation
but each time I miss and fall farther away
deeper into the pit of despair
please hear me
I beg you come to my salvation
be the light that will save me from the darkness
from my past
I can see you standing there
watching me with heartless eyes
with an empty smile plastered on your face
you pretend not to see me
pretend to be blind
but I can tell
I know you see
my screams resonate in your ears
reminding you of your past
so you walk away
farther away
can I trust you
can I believe in you
how can I be sure you won't betray me too
there's only one way to know
but I can never find out
cuz you're walking away
farther away from me
