Is The Answer I Seek A Yes Or A No?

Contributed by CloakedMystery on Friday, 6th May 2005 @ 02:22:08 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

When I'm feeling blue,
I look up and see you.
Smiling with those soft lips of yours,
I smile back as my heart soars.

I like you,
but I doubt you know.
It's like Cupid shot me with and arrow,
Though I often think it was you who was holding the bow.
You make me smile,
and that's a thing not many can do.
I wish you could see that this it true.

Your special to me,
Why can't you see?
Maybe you do?
Can this be true?

To my heart you hold the key,
If you choose to use it
Does this mean you like me?

Please open my heart atleast just to see what's inside,
All that's in my heart is you,
and this I currently hide.

You will not know this,
unless you show that you like me,
Maybe with a kiss,
or maybe with a simple gesture directed only to me.

If this happens,
what will it mean?

Will my love for you,
Continue to be unseen?

If your love for me does not exist,
should my love for you be dismissed?

But untill that day,
I'll sit and wait, wonder and wish,
Will "I love you." be the words you say?
Oh how much I want to give you a kisss!

To bad so far these are only hopes and dreams,
Not what I want it to be...reality.

But soon I will know,
and my heart will be at rest.

My affection for you will continue to show,
Although maybe not knowing is best.

Right now all I want is to know,

Is the answer I seek a yes or a no?

This is an extremely good poem! Are you sure it's your first and not like your 21st? There is so much longing in there, so much life. I found these lines to be so touching:

To my heart you hold the key,
If you choose to use it
Does this mean you like me?

Please open my heart atleast just to see what's inside,
All that's in my heart is you,
and this I currently hide

I think that if he ever used the key, that he would like what he finds and I hope that you can find the happiness you long for. Maybe you could "accidentally" press the key into his hand and lead him to that heart of yours...
