Overcoming this sickness

Contributed by Shishke_Bob on Friday, 6th May 2005 @ 10:45:30 AM in AEST
Topic: Suicide

Overcoming this sickness

I can’t take this pain any longer
I just wish it would go away
The emptiness that I feel will drive me mad
I don’t know how much longer it will last
So, I will make it end myself.

My skin is so pale
I look like I’m already dead
I don’t know what my mother will say
God, I hope she won’t be frightened
“Sammy, are you feeling better?”

The bowl shattered on the ground as the door opened
We saw the red that covered the floor
The sight was agonizing to behold
As it flooded the doorway, we could do nothing
It was too late and it couldn’t be undone

The thick pasty-like red substance
Was reflecting our stares of astonishment
And I looked up at my mother and frowned
As she knelt down to wipe up the mess
When she was done she stood up.

“Oh Sammy I am sorry I know you aren’t feeling good
And asked for this awhile ago I’ll go make you another one
Don’t worry we have plenty of Campbell’s.”
And I chuckled as she went out the door and down the stares
That our conversation was ended with tomato soup.

From fatal to funny. Hilarious. I love works like this. Comedy is apparently your venue.

Well, I must say, this poem was about as tasteless as tomato soup from a can. I'm going to praise the inventiveness, for it was really quite clever, but let's not quite call that a wholehearted endorsement. Keep writing.
