The Power of Anger

Anger takes flight,
And traps us in a plight.
We try to escape,
But we are stuck to it like tape.
It submerges us in its rage
As everyday we turn the page
Of life
With suffocating strife.
We seem to be rid of it,
And before we know it,
We are back in the pit.
It takes us over with its mighty power,
As unwavering as a tall tower.
When its hunger has been filled
And all that have harmed you are killed,
Can you live in peace once more?
We slam the door,
And it stays there
Until it can again tear
Out and wreak havoc once more.
