Litany of the Insane

Contributed by FleurdeSang on Thursday, 5th May 2005 @ 02:59:25 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Contemplating on a throne of ashes,
Spinning tales of a ceased existence with a bleeding pen,
Flies dying with a last buzz of sorrow,
As the decaying scream for release,
And the moon laughs at my petulance…

Ravenous beasts of flame and smoke,
Eating away at a dead prophet’s legacy,
Stories of one-winged unicorns and beautiful fantasy,
Imagination running, wild,
Babbling, clawing at the mind,
Naked and weaving through infinite corridors,
A blurry vision of everything and nothing…

Whisper a broken melody,
Shattered dreams and pleasure-filled screams,
Musty hands molesting the soul,
Innocence lost by a simple “Hello…”

**** the mind, **** the knowledge,
**** the world,
And everyone drowns in blissful abandon,
As Indifference spreads its disease through a kiss…

Fading… fadin… fadi… fad…

Gone.

Nothing left but a stupid phrase,
Worthless jargon from a wretched poet,
Political injustices, blind Death,
Friendly hate, drunken personalities,
Truth is a lie, and belief is a sin…

Hide behind your excuses,
Pretend that you are someone else,
Feign happiness, and cut all of your problems away…
Queen of Ignorance, wearing her royal crown of ****,
Masturbate to a requiem, consume your lust with a splash of lemon,
Repent all of your sins,
So you can commit them again…

Butterflies with razor wings,
Penetrating glares of the insecure,
Phantasms of the deranged,
Kill for the voices,
And perish along with the illusions…

Cherish this heavenly agony,
Scream my name, reveal the demon within,
And the blade will taste your flesh once more…
Embrace the delusions,
Wrap a kiss in a leaf of weeping,
Toss caution in the wind,
Step on every crack without suspicion,
And store it all in your pile of Forget…

Floating atop ebony torrents,
Drowning under self-hate,
Battles against yourself,
Subconscious desires of a flawless life,
And you melt, joining with the false promises,
Withering away… into a world of

DARKNESS…

With only a whisper,
Of resonating,

SILENCE…

***** Steph you have rendered me speechless
with your latest work of dark beauty. The title
really stood out and then the poem itself wow
I won't even try to list the things that I loved
about it. I am in awe at how you write like this
time and time again me thinks you should
share some of your talent. Wow yeah this
was just awesome. You truly have been blessed with talent.

I get lost in these images here. Oh if only I could pretend I were someone else - I do try sometimes, but always come back to reality. Actually it reminds me of something I am trying to forget at the moment... Still, when you write, Stephy, you fill your poems with so many images that it's like watching a movie trailer - most intriguing!
*hugs* J.
