From the hilltop I stand and view
Orange fireflies hover in queue
In bright amber glow, they weep
And watch the houses as they sleep
In mournful flashes of intense blue
The silent dash of an ambulance crew
Lightning darting through empty streets
Fighting of the darkness that it meets
In graceful arcs the bold seagulls fly
Like masters of this blackened sky
The harbour rests, I look out to see
Solitary fishing boat adrift at sea
Safety beacon pulses red and green
So those at home can be seen
