Grief

My tea's gone cold, iam woundering if i have grown too old.
to understand the mind of the child that i once did hold,
now my blood runs cold to see what this child has turned out to be.
not to see the stars in the eyes that once looked at me
to feel he's taken away the world that we once did hold,
now my arms lay open but he no longer comes running in like he used to,
the face that i once did dress now turns away from me,
the feet that i once did teach how to walk now walk away,
the words that once made me smile with wounder, now make me cry
I now lay bleeding from a wound not caused by a knife
but just a few words harshly spoken.

This is sad...well written, but sad. IT's hard to lose someone, but especially when it's their own choice to walk away. nicely done. |
