Trying to Live through Each Day

My dreams grow thinner
but I can still remember
my swirling reality
is sometimes more than I can swallow
I feel like I drift by
on this whim they called everday
not really feeling like I've done much today
my tears could have filled a river
on the day you left me
but now as I see clearer
you left an imprint in my life that was better left to just a day
the painted sky I'm staring at
velvet colors fading fast
I'm brought back to places
that my mind plays back
times that I could laugh alone
and never feel the same
my words startle my mind
jolting the scattered thoughts
I am my own, my own life
I think about today
as if it were my last
would I go thinking I'd enjoyed it?
Or would it all be left unsaid

Very good write, it got stronger as it went along to its finish! Much can be related to this one, keep up the good work!
