Passing of Today

Contributed by waos on Tuesday, 3rd May 2005 @ 09:35:28 PM in AEST
Topic: Nostalgic

Romanticize fact into fiction,
put your hope in the basket of the past
and hold on for the ride.

Live forgotten in today,
dreaming of yesterday;
laugh away this moment
until wasted are the days.

Call to the memories until,
answered by the echo,
today passes away into the grave.

Live in perpetual decay,
dreaming of better days.
hear the plastic laughter ringing out
with nothing left to say.

~Waos/Kara

Hey there Kara I enjoyed this it was totally
different than what you usually write, but I
liked it a lot especially the part about the
"plastic laughter" it's so true. Yeah this twas
an enjoyable read.

An interesting perspective and I guess you're right - we all feel like the past was better; at least until we reach a point in our *own* past where we've hit bottom. It's good to have a point to focus on and say "things will never be -that- bad again." :-) I suppose that's what us older people are trying to say with those "when I was your age" stories. heh.
This was thought-provoking and that means good things!

We never realize how beautiful
the present is until it is the past.
Interesting concept, I love it.
Lesson to us all: look for the beauty
in the here and now.

Thank you, I needed that.

Blu
