Such a brilliant light surrounded you
It warmed every soul that passed by
So many lives you touched and inspired
With the strength of your heart and the love in your eyes
Your smile, your laugh, your presence
Was far too much to contain
The impression you've made on all of our hearts
Will forever and always remain
Even now as I sit to write
I fight to hold back my tears
But I know that your flame will continue to burn
From now to the end of our years
And so I leave my pen with this
We love you Grandad, and you are deeply missed

I know exactly how you feel. I lost my grandpa 3 1/2 years ago and to this day i have only been to his grave maybe 4 times if that. It does get a little easier but is hard b/c you will hear somebody say something that your grandad would say. I still get choked up when i talk about him so on that note. Wonderfully written. Keep up the good writing I bet he truly appreciate the poem |
