A Dream

Topic: oops

Lightning flashes overhead-thunder crashes down
People scatter everywhere-though no one makes a sound

Buildings crumble steadily-brick by brick they fall
Rivers slowly drying up-soon the dead will call

Blood lines every corner-each street is flooded red
I walk knee deep in silence-keeping track of every head

A slow chill rises up-my eyes are drawn away
A stranger kneels before me-in a stance as though to pray

The sky is black with fury-a slow breeze blows to chill
Could he have been the one-who was summond here to kill?

I slowly walk upon him-the ground cracks underneath
He rises swift and agile-as a sword show from its sheath

I stance, prepared to fight-although I'm fairly weak
He simply raised his eyes-and gently began to speak

"The world was too corrupt-the people cruel and dark
Man kills man for money-evil leaves its mark
Women sleep around-men do just the same
Lies stamp out the honest-and no one will take the blame
So here I stand before you-the one sent up to clean
To send you each where you belong-then swiftly take my leave."

I stand my ground but waver-fatigue soon overtakes
Though confusion grabs my mind-and coils like a snake

"You said that you came up-but shouldn't it be down?
Didn't God decide this-that no good could still be found?"

"My dearest, so naive and sweet-the world is out of hand
God has given up all hope-so the Devil stirred the sands."

With a flash of red and silver-from eyes and sword alike
He leaves the ground we stand on-and rising takes his flight

With that I wake in thought-I know God loves us so
But could we grow so far from him-that he simply lets us go?

For a young ladie you sure have a perspecitve about you.You seem so aware of things most young don't think about. "I'm old I could be wrong"
God is all love, all just, He will never give up on us.Although I wouldn't blame Him.
I enjoyed thispoem emencly.
