Bloodrush Continuum Part II

Contributed by lilschizoboy07 on Monday, 2nd May 2005 @ 09:29:24 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

The Bloodrush continues
but it's not fed by blades, it's feuled by rising gas venues.
Attacking and killing and dying for a little oil.
This country was never pure but now it's even more spoiled.
To tell the truth mankind's blood has always been boiled
over something or another
since the beggining of time we've toiled
to rise above everyone and everything else
we've named ourselves the highest animal
but still meaninglessly, brutally
murder each other like Hannibal.
No other creature is cruel
yet we kill our own because we think it's cool.
We wipe out the world's wonders
and then wonder "what do we do?"
sitting under our windowsills
wishing it wasn't true
and some of us don't even have windowsills
and their clothes are dried goo
yet all the rest of us worry about
is where our pet just pooed.
We're certainly crude
replacing conscience with "reason"
and kindness with business
It's ourselves and each other we're tearing through
and our nonevil nonhuman bystanders
are countless, needless, heedless
casualties of war
We don't care about who we do it to
just what we do it for
money
the elixir-slash-honey
that really keeps us poor
opens up the cruelty in us
while we forget to close the door
no matter how many and who screams out "No more!"
The Bloodrush will continue to the fires of Hell
where we'll still be trying to one-up over each other
even though we're all at rock bottom
no one lower than any other
it's an ever-effectual, perpetual, despicable Bloodrush Continuum.
