Smiles seem to eat me alive
and happiness to wither,
packing boxes of sunshine
for another such gloomy day
but today the boxes fall on top of me.

Laughter kills,
joy burns my skin.
I can't explain it,
Darkness wins.

Too tired to fight it,
can't even get up the strength to try.
Drowning in animosity,
just trying to survive.
