Along the road I was walking
Tall and upright
On my cell phone was I talking
To a friend I would meet tonight
Little did I know that my night would end in despair
But rather, I pranced down the road
Of my fate I was unaware
But fate is a cold wind, written in code
That night I was informed
My friend’s future was not too sweet
My heart inside transformed
Tears fell from my face so full of defeat
My friend’s path in life
Was never too clean
On a road full of strife
Following society’s daily routine
Along her road she used to be walking
Crouched over and small
She mattered so much to those who, to her, were talking
But that wasn’t enough as she answered society’s call
If only she would have traveled by a different road
Maybe her fate would have been knowed
To be of a greater path in life
To not erode
