If I had one thing I could wish for
I’d return to what things were before
Turn back time and bring back the days
When I could stop to look at your face
I’d do things different, do things better
And keep the things that really matter
Turn back time and bring back the days
I’d put things back to their proper place
I’d hold your hand, never letting go
And show you the love you didn’t know
Turn back time and bring back the days
I’d change myself and change my ways
I’d make up for all the times we’ve lost
To erase this pain love lost has caused
If I had one thing I could wish for
I’d only wish for you…nothing more.

A very touching write my friend. It is a tale worthy of a ballad and saga of romantic love. How we all harbour such wish and intentions. But the thing that touches most of all, is that this is always will be only a set of regrets and nothing more for time is always a stream of singular constant and we can never turn back the clock. This poem is both beautiful yet hurtful at once. Such sad beauty it hauntingly evokes. But I have this sneaking feeling that what we did was a choice and even if we can go back we will allways choose the same choices and make the same decisions. Oh well...all in all this is a hauntingly beautiful piece that does tugs at the heasrtstrings. The arrangement is nice although it could benefit from a more focused use of imagery. |
