In this memory I do keep
Of old times do I weep
Failed and frayed am myself
Fleeing from this earthly hell
Crying my tears do stain the way
Healing my soul do I pray
My eyes wander but heart is set
These memories I need forget
Now in this time of deep despair
Knowing not of who’ll be there
Not a shoulder to lean on
Not a soul to make me strong
Fill these voids inside of me
For my existence, help me be
But not a life will be wasted
On your face a smile pasted
I will choose not to give in
Regret from sorrow, forgive from sin
Let these candles burn so bright
Let the flame guide way tonight

This is such an inspiring poem. Not the obvious suffering, but the will of iron that will persist in who she is, despite... well, everything. A very eloquent description of hypocripsy when you say "on your face a smile pasted." Very well written and I hope the flame that is jennie burns strong and bright for a long time. |
