Memory

Contributed by Archie on Saturday, 30th April 2005 @ 04:06:01 PM in AEST
Topic: SongLyrics

Intro: I have yet to fall in love but based on the things my friends have gone through I put together this song. I have been working on it for some time. Think of it as a country song.

I woke up early this morning
and I thought
I could smell your pefume
My heart imagined that last night I held you
in loves deep interlude

But it was just a dream of false reality
keeping me from facing you are gone
Something I was thinking so subconsciously
when you told me we were done

(Optional replacement to first 4 lines of chorus)
(False hope
hidden in your memories
late at night my heart still dreams
of being with you)

(Chorus)
I miss
the times that you held me close
telling me you loved me so
but i have to move on
I can't
keep pretending you're not gone
I must admit to myself
that you're trapped in my memory

Just before I walked out of my door
I thought i heard your voice again
I looked over my shoulder to make sure
it was just illusion

The ghost of you keeps hiding in my heart
I can not shake the love that we have lost
Since the time you said we had to part
more than a year ago

Chorus

I thought our love would last until forever
I could see the rocking chairs upon our porch
I would hold your hand until the day
life ebbed away from us
but now I''m in love with a ghost

(Upstep Chorus)
(Repeat chorus 2 times)

Ending

Just before I walked out of my door
I thought I heard your voice again.
