Sweet Sorrow

Contributed by MorningGlory on Friday, 29th April 2005 @ 08:53:37 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

It was in that moment
which my heart
conceived the bitter
acknowlegdment of pain,
torture,
and enlightenment.

Those times
in love
were a soft
death that
wrecked
the mind
and left
the soul ragged.

It was the sorrow
of that first kiss,
the unravelling of passion,
the soft,
pliable movements
of body and limb.
My eyes closed,
My heart opened .

The moments after
my sweet death
I gathered myself close
and shed tears for myself
and what I lost.
I closed my mind to possibilities
of a so-called happy existence with myself,
by myself.

Goodness this was written with such beauty
and sadness and I am shocked that I am the
first to comment on this work of art. I liked it
all but the second stanza stood out to me
when you said that love was a "soft death"
that was cool for lack of a better word. Yeah I
also liked how this was laid out. Keep up the
writing.
