Simplicity

Contributed by Archie on Friday, 29th April 2005 @ 12:14:35 PM in AEST
Topic: SongLyrics

I want nothing more than to be happy
but happiness just keeps eluding me
Even when I get the things I''ve wanted
Something keeps it''s joy from reaching me

Everyone around me seems so happy
They get just what they want and what they need

I wish it was the same for me, but it is not today
I wish my life had more simplicity

I''d give away all my money
just to have some peace of mind
Life to me seems very lonely
I have no friends to spend my time

I''d give my life up for some meaning
to end the toils of wasting time
to add to my eye a little gleening
and a reason not to cry

The more I try to reach that star
the further away it becomes
I would forget my life
just for a little joy
and simplicity

I took a look into the mirror
to see the man that I''ve become
A life adrift upon the river
A man whose life is so undone

I thought that maybe I should end it
but that is not the proper road
Somehow there must be some hope
a way to somehow cope
If I find smplicity

I''d give away all of my money
just to find some peace of mind
you can have all my posessions
let me have some happy times

A life that always sees the rainbow
even during drowning times
Somehow there must be some hope
a way to justly cope
If I had simplicity

No one
no one feels like me
it feeels like no one
no one feels like me
(Simplicity)
/repeat/

The words are so wistful and sincere.
Lots of people feel like you do, Archie. I've been there. Trust in God - sounds crazy, but wait and see...soon you'll be writing poems of joy. I'll be waiting for that day, since you're a gifted writer.

I guess it has to be found in our minds before we can find it in our lives. This is so heartfelt and something (yes indeed, more than just you!) so many people struggle with, including myself. My wish for you is that you find it.
Nice work. J.

Just a thought that came to mind while reading this. If we were happyu all the time, would we not then cease to be? We humans are never capable of knowing the value of tteh divine, and for that, I think, God takes away for a time that which is good, so we can see how good it was. Just a thought, a work in progress.
I apologize. In no way did I mean to take so long. May happiness be returned to you soon.
Take care,
David
