cause and effect

Contributed by wordsy on Thursday, 26th December 2002 @ 11:25:00 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

I wonder at the reasons
Or the causes and effect
Of the little things in life
That so often I detect
Some that seem so simple
And small on their own
But when added to other problems
They become so over blown
From a small and babbling brook
To a raging rivers flow
Swept away by life
To the oceans roaring tow
Drowned is the hope
Along with all the dreams
Over come by shadows
And the fear it often brings

I'm guessing that this one is new and that's why so few people have read it because I think it's quite good. It elaborates nicely on how small problems can become large and how we can be swept away in them. It uses some nice symbolism in the process. I think this is better then some poems I have read in the Top 30 and I hope that more people catch onto it.

i heard somewhere that one of the first things a human is "programmed" to do even bfr bith is to look for cause and effect relationships. as your poem remids, they are important.
