YOU'RE A GOOD MAN., MY SON

Topic: FamilyPoems

YOU ARE A GOOD MAN, MY SON

When you were young,
I gave you my right hand......
Now that I'm old, you give
me yours, that I might stand.....
You are a Good man, my son!

When we found ourselves homeless,
Not one complaint, you were dauntless.
One whole year you sat up to sleep.....
So I could lie down- not an easy feat.
You're a man of Character, my son!

Our food supply exhausted....
Not a crumb for two weeks, frosted.
You shoveled snow with gloved hand...
Weak, I could barely stand.
You are a very Kind man, my son!

Judge commands:" You will visit your father!"
Threat of jail, in open court, "Never!"
"He is a very bad man, I take my stand!"
From that day 'til now, he is banned"
You are a very Courageous man, my son!

Your heart so deep, lovingly empathetic,
Stray friends, stray dogs, heartsick.
Loan them money, bring them home.
Out of the cold, they no longer roam.
You are a Generous man, my son!

Not religious per se, but qualities fine
You have scruples, principles, n'er decline.
You worship your God unpretentiously.
Not budging when others disagree fiercely
You are a Faithful man, my son!

They were your choices, freewill
You chose to love good, to walk uphill
You've made a Mother's heart so glad
Because you chose, to hate the bad!
You have Integrity, my son!

For you everyday I tell you of my love....
A sincere, meaningful love from above.
Have I also told you I'm so proud.....
Do you mind if I shout it, out loud?
What a mature man you've become,
my Wonderful son!

Written especially for you
Lovingly,
Your Mom

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Listen to your father who
caused your birth, and do not despise
your mother just because she has grown old."
"Your father and mother will rejoice,
and she that gave birth to you
will be joyful."
The Bible-
Proverbs 23:22-25.
My son, Montie, today
Yes indeed Consue - this is a masterpiece ;of a dedication, but so deserved. You can be so proud of your son. He has everything that we ought to have.An upright heart , full of love - no more is needed
It is deeply touching when a mother sings the excellences of a so worthy son.
Give thanks to the Lord for such a marvellous and incomparable gift.
Just wonderful!
Love and peace
Elizabeth
