I don't understand why

I never thought I could hurt this much
and it hurts even worse because it's from you
You told me you loved me
and I thought that your heart was true.

I don't understand why I believed you
when all that you were telling was lies
You told me that you loved me
and now when I think of you I cry.

I never thought I could love this much
and never thought you could love me.
But I was right about one of those things
at least that is what I now believe.

I don't understand why I trusted you
to help me when I needed.
When all you think about now is yourself
I wonder how you became so concieted.
