The Rose Chronicles

Contributed by justme03 on Thursday, 28th April 2005 @ 04:28:12 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Like a zombie she walks the deathly garden
of blood stained roses
The vines wrapped round the trellis's
in mysterious poses.
She looks into the tear drop pond
in the center of the labyrinth of roses.
The ghost of her past lover
is standing over her shoulder
as she adds to the sorrowful pond
wishing all pain to be gone.
Three little words escape
her blood tainted lips.

"I love you."

Puts them under a trance of love.
She is the Queen of all insanity.
Love that drives you to the grave.
Love that in time you'l want to trade.
The fierceness in her eyes
The power of her lies
and deception so deep
Her love shall defy you and
leave you so weak.

Daggers
slicing into the hearts
of young lovers
The warm blood stains
all that was good
The rose's thorns pierce the skin
digging deep into an old wound
The rose wraps it's vine's tightly
around the lovers' hearts
binding them together
forever in love and in hate
driving them to the brink of madness

"Curse of love
Hear me out!"
Singing to the sun
Thinking of
what she's done
Crying tears of blood
that slide down her face
leaving no trace
of bliss

Looking through a dark tunnel
Gazing past the glass on the mirror
In her eyes is a vision of the
perpetual road that lays ahead
Never ending, like the pathway
to the center of a rose

Glossy blackness,
the velvety darkness
swallowing up the hope
that once seemed enough
to carry her through the day
Now she rides on the dusty love
from her past lover
She knows she can no longer have it
So she silently cries, gazing into the depths
of the overflooding pond and she still can see
the reflection of her long gone lover
His hand on her shoulder as he slowly fades in the darkness
She longs to hold on to him, but reality catches her as she falls
from her fantasy and she realizes that holding onto
the past is something
she no longer can do

The call of a raven
severs the sky
All stillness is broken
and she cries her last cry
The dawn has broken
and she fades away
quickly and swiftly
Her petals drifting onto the ground
quietly, without so much as a sound
