Hope

Contributed by FleurdeSang on Thursday, 28th April 2005 @ 10:06:51 AM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

There is something within,
That tells me to hold on,
A flicker of light,
That guides me through darkness,
Hope…

On days of suffering,
How often they come,
When endless tears are wept,
And nothing seems to go right,
I just close my eyes,
And there he is…

~~~
Touched by shadows,
Tainted child,
Fallen from grace…
Silent release,
Lamentations of painful recollections…
Dance with me, Death,
Late into the Night,
Take me far away from here…
Dreams from a dreamer,
Ramblings of a poet,
A bleeding rose,
Flower of suffering…
Ephemeral visions,
Of a life that could be…
Happiness visits for more than a day,
Smile on my face,
Love in my heart…
A fragment in time,
Here and now,
Lost within bittersweet memories,
Of childhood and romance…
~~~

There is Hope in times of sorrow,
We may think there is none,
But his candle is always alight for us…
For he is eternal…

He lingers near, waiting,
Arms wide open,
Ready to catch you when you fall,
Ready to be your wings when you want to fly…

You ask me why I have a smile on my face, dear friend…

There is something within,
That tells me to hold on,
A flicker of light,
That guides me through darkness,
Hope…

Stephy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is wonderful!!!!!

This, hon... is so very nearly exactly what I would have expressed if I had words enough to do so. Ah, but I would have filled pages trying and it wouldn't have been so perfect.

I adore this... for reasons beyond what I might be able to adequately convey.

Just now learning to fly,
~Snemmy~

I think ... Hope is like a hunter ... stealing through the shadows of despair, searching for those that need and believe in him ... once found, he begins to visit often and when the spirit has been raised ... he ventures out again ... in search of others who need his touch. Yet once marked by him, his sight returns to you again and again, so he can be assured that what he had done ... does not come undone. And should you need him ... he can always hear your call.

Nazzy ~

Hope is something we never see but we know it is there. Hope is for a better future.
The word hope carries aspirations.

Wow Steph you have expressed this so clearly. You have an inner strength and an angel on your shoulder that keeps you from drowning.

I loved this one

Love Angelxxx

"There is Hope in times of sorrow,"

Amen sister! I loved that line the whole poem
was beautifully composed, but that line just
summarized the whole poem and I couldn't
agree with it more. Yeah I loved this and will
shut up and go read it again.

Beautiful, it truly is. The words to not capture so much as convey the sense (it is a bit ineffable anyway, yes?). Love is such a powerful thing, and need not manifest itself only person-to-person, but in surroundings, situations, even adversity. The kind of Love that gives hope to a heart. It should have its own word.

I shall now cease rambling. Well done!

Andrew
