There’s an old woman in the mirror. A portent of my time here on earth?
She looks at me like she doesn’t understand, like she thinks she’s lost her mind.
As I gaze at her, I wonder, which one of us is real.
The old woman in the mirror, or this girl in the empty shell.

Excellent insight to what every women has or one day will view from their mirrors staring back at them. So lets' hope as old womens tiny beginnings of age, fine and forever coming winkles and wearing, are shared not with a shell but by happy thoughts and days still ahead. Good thoughts do keep you young.

Thank you for your comment on my "lecture" I tend to go nuts at times, and usually it ends up with people thinking I'm going over the edge. I just can't stand the thought of someone hurting themselves. Life is to precious. I liked this poem of yours very much. Sometimes I look in the mirror and don't know who is standing there, so this poem struck a note with me. Shey |

a haunting and chilling piece. you need to expand this...add to it as the seconds tick away, it'll make an excellent commentary on what is in and out of the 'glass'.
thanks so much for sharing |
