The empowering smell of bliss,
Filled my mind with its vanilla-like presence,
Pure, white, and sweet,
I floated through grey skies,
But the iniquity of the demon of life,
Is played upon me like a game,
Dousing my happiness with scorn,
All I hear is laughter, as it wins another round,
This the last; I can endure no more,
My soul now shrivelled like a black current,
My heart, the remains of sweet smelling incense,
Invigorating to the senses while burning,
But extinguished to a lifeless pile of grey,
My lungs fill with blood,
I choke, I cry, I plead,
My words splatter red,
An abstract painting at my feet,
Tears release sharpened knives,
Ripping my skin like bed sheets,
I bare my chest to the wind,
So coldness may penetrate my body,
The pneumonia, like a long-lost friend,
Welcomed in to finish what was started,
This unwanted empty shell, now my final burden.
