So I'll Never Forget

Contributed by jacobskk on Wednesday, 27th April 2005 @ 08:07:42 PM in AEST
Topic: LoveRemembered

I’ve been thinking about it a lot, lately. How nervous I was.
And about how many miles per hour that my mind was going.
Wondering,
What would I see when I got there?
How long would I get to stay?
But most importantly, would you hug me? Kiss me maybe?
And then I wondered what your kiss would taste like, If I ever got to sample it.
It was around the time that you still liked me, so why not?
The fact that I remember everything about that day is funny.
I’m laughing at it right now as I’m writing it.

I remember the sun was setting…my favorite part of the day.
And the sky was several different colors,
As my sister and I came over the hill by Toyon.
And we had you on the phone with us, giving us directions to your house,
As we passed the Golf Club. I wondered it I looked okay, and kept checking the mirror.
The music was even up loud, but I was so nervous, I couldn’t hear it.
For some reason, excitement had overcome me. I know that sounds crazy…

When we pulled up, the first thing I saw was you walking out the front door,
And coming towards us. When I got out, to my surprise (Not really) you gave me a hug.
Gosh, it was nice. I wanted ten more. But I couldn’t stay long.
So we hurried into your house and I met your mom before we went into your room.
I still remember how your room looked. Your black light was on, you show-off.
And your futon was up against the window. That old entertainment center
That you used to have was where your new one is right now.
And there was a long dresser up against the right wall where your bed is now.
I still remember, and I intend to keep remembering by writing all the details down.
So I’ll never forget.
When I had to leave, You gave me what I remember the mist about that day…
A big hug at the door. You almost squeezed the life out of me. And as our car pulled away,
The quick five-minute visit that my parents didn’t know about was stuck in my thoughts.
And I watched you out the back window, as you walked out to the swing that used to be
In your front yard. Did you watch me disappear too? What was on your mind?
How long did you stay there after I had left?
I don’t know. Maybe I’ll ask you someday. But now,
Just so I’ll never forget, I’ll think about that day every day. Like I always do.
For the rest of my life.
Forever.
I love you, Jacob.
