Goodbye my love,
I gave you my last shove,
You took your love away,
This time apart we will stay.
I never thought this day would come,
I never thought I’d lose my sun,
I am sorry for the pain I have caused,
I wish I’d stopped & taken a pause.
I should have looked at all I’d lose,
Please someone walk inside my shoes,
As I can take this hurt & pain,
Knowing it is I to blame.
Your memory will linger on,
Like the most beautiful of songs,
Please don’t forget all that we shared,
Please remember I was once there.
My heart will beat no more,
It lays shattered on the floor,
Wishing you would just come back,
Feeling defeated, dark & black.
I never thought our love would end,
You were everything, you were my friend,
You were the other half of me,
In your arms is where I felt free.
My heart & I will wait forever,
Maybe you will come back never,
But in my eyes you’re worth the wait,
Here I’ll be sitting on lovers gate.

I love the line
"Please someone walk inside my shoes"
One of those lines you read and think, "I wish I had written that".
