Why Me Lord?

Why me Lord?
I’m not sure what I could have done
That warranted you sending your son
To die so cruelly on a tree
To wipe all my sins free

Tell me Lord
Why wasn’t it my hands?
Nailed and ties to the stand
When it was I, who failed to be
What you come to expect from me

Why do you lord?
Continue to care?
For my burdens that you to bear
When I have failed you so many times
Yet your love I can still call mine

Show me Lord
What I can do
To make it up to you
For you gave your only son
To die, for what I’ve done

Very very good.... I know what you mean. I have written things similar to what you have written here. Once again good job and keep up the great work.

While every care is taken to ensure the general sites content is family safe, our moderators cannot be in all places; all the time. Please report poetry and or comments that are in breach of our site rules HERE (Please include poem title or url). Parents also please ensure that you supervise your children well when they are on the internet; regardless of what a site says about being, or being considered, child-safe.
