Stale Air I Breathe (to michael)

he's just an angry little boy
starving in his angry world
tonight
beating music
until it flows like blood
thick and rich
sweet as darkness
sweet enough to drink
I've made him what he is to me
God above or God below I need
I need him
more than this
stale air I breathe
I'm just an angry little girl
drinking up his angry world tonight
swallowing truth by
the flickering fire of candle flame
as it glints off the gold of
the frame of the bed
if I had to show you
would you believe?
this tune keeps beating in my head
don't let me down
don't let me drown
the moon is just a mirror and
it makes me question
the day's good intentions
and I wonder if that pale orb
takes some kind of perverse pleasure
in stealing warmth and light
and if I benefit
who am I to blame?

I like this. It has a stream of fluid that wraps one in its words. It flowed nicely and I must say I like the meaning and the message!
Well done! ~joni~ |
