Three-Legged Stool

Contributed by blue_angel on Sunday, 24th April 2005 @ 09:22:11 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Things have changed so much over time
You no longer care for me like you used to
I tried to tell you how I felt today
But I got scared when I started talking to you
So intimidated am I by your side
You take advantage of my feelings again
With your fowl tongue you kill me slowly
Each time you speak I fear it’s the end
You don’t understand I turn to you
For support and comfort but you turn away
Which makes me feel alone and hurt
I’m left in remorse and such dismay
All the things you said just yesterday
You didn’t mean them and now I’m a fool
I’m trying to make a pig fly
Trying to balance on a three-legged stool
I wish it were as easy as you make it sound
But I just can’t seem to forget the past
It’s like I’m repeating the same race
And I continue to come in last
I’m tricking myself into things that aren’t true
You’re fake words give me false hope
My tongue utters the same pathetic lies
Am I able to wash my mouth out with soap?
I can’t continue these acts of foolishness
Rid me of this longing and lustration
Slap me in the face till I’m black and blue
Rid me of this guilt and frustration

I can understand your frustration with this disappointing person and hypocrisy (amongst the other things) can be frustrating... but do not encourage (verbally, emotionally, whateverlly) physical abuse. Maybe it is just a poetic device, but I really don't want you to willingly invite physical harm. You deserve so better than that.

as I tell my friends when they love someone and they do not love them back "If they can not see you for the wonderful person you are than it is there loss, not yours" and anyone who could write a poem so wonderful can not be bad, I wish you luck and confert
