Rainy Friday evenings.
Blue eyes contradicting cloudy skies.
The weather seems perfect for this occasion.
A celebration of a year I'm never supposed to forget.
(I bet)
On your drive home, I could see your eyes filling with regret.
Wet bottoms of my tatered pants and drops of water flashing through my eyelashes that dropped on to them.
I'm giving up on something perfect and making sense of the fact that I hurt it.
Dressed in black and it walked away.
Back turned to me and in spite of everything, it shouldn't worry.
I made the best mistake tonight, that could've been made.
We could have waited until tomorrows overbearing snow,
when the smell of flowers is deafening,
and self esteems aren't at an all-time low.
