A Death In The Mourning

Contributed by philly on Wednesday, 25th December 2002 @ 04:20:00 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

I reached out with a desperate heart
But there is no comfort for me
There is no hope to find
How alone I am
How empty all of life is
This world has not been gentle with me
I suffer all the time
And at times I dont even know why I suffer
In the shadows of life I cry out
How pointless everyday has become
Day and night are all the same
I will eat and I shall sleep and I shall live
But for reasons unknown to me
I see no purpose- I feel only despair
My eyes are always filled with tears
My heart is always broken
Even in times when I have reasons to be happy
I'm filled with the inner death of apathy
Many times I've wished for death
In death I would feel no pain
Some say I should wish for life
In life I might know joy
But I feel only pain
And I have never known joy
For I can neither live or die
I can only be between the two
Such a truth breaks my heart a thousand times
And such agony makes me fear every coming day
For each one brings more sorrow than the last
O how no one knows the sadness I hold within me
I will weep and no one will see
I will scream and no one will hear
I will die and no one will care
What has suffering done to me
I know not what all this is for
Why has happiness shut me away
Why am I left alone in the dark
It has been so long since I've felt hope
I cannot even dream of joy
It has all made me weak
I can't even be angry anymore
All that I can do is cry
And hold my heart as it bleeds
What is there left to do
I want nothing
Why is it that I still live
What more misery is there to feel
What new sorrows are there to know
I grow tired of all this grief
How sad it is to weep all the time
Why must it be this way
It's like I suffer every day
There is nothing left for me to do
Nothing left for me to say

Wow, dude this was amazing. I am totally drained after reading this... this is a gem. I feel a lot like you described in the poem. One thing I have learned though is ppl will care when we die. That's probably the only reason why I'm still here. Wow I'm still trying to recover from this poem... If you ever need someone to talk to plz e-mail me at bobothefartingclown@yahoo.com or fartingson@hotmail.com... I'll always be there to listen...

thank you... I'm sort of squeamish when it comes down to revealing my poetry and my emotions for that matter... I dont really get to hear the opinions of other people when i write. So its really good to know that someone besides me thinks my poetry is good..

Oh my friend we all grow so tired of the grief's we have in life and we all get confused and lost and don't know what to do at times or know the answers to all we feel we should know, but take my word it does matter if you die or not and there are people who care for you and love you deeply even tho it may not feel like it at times or seem like it know that there are.....sometimes i think that it's the people we love most and the people who love us most which are the ones who hurt us the most.....beleive in yourself my friend and trust in your heart....I look forward to reading more of your poetry...
