The Place Where the Dark Goes

Contributed by Dereku on Saturday, 23rd April 2005 @ 10:56:00 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Theres a place out there
That the dark goes
To hide and deceive
All that it knows
It covers, it smothers
And it warps all it can

And so it was
That the minds of man
Were taken and shaped
Into what can
And will
Be all that is found
When the hands of time
Decide to wind down

It is all that is
And it is all that can
Be taken and viewed
When only unscrewed
It bursts and it bounds
It tries to astound
It falls flat to the floor
It craves, and wants more

There is a place that the light tries
To avoid and escape, to deny to the grave
It knows and it shows all that it will
Because of the dark that wants to kill
The spirit, the body, the mind, and the heart
It wants to destroy, if it can, the start
Of all things good, all things pure

Theres a place out there
That calls all to it
To maim and to mock
To poison the flock
Sometimes it loses, sometimes it wins
Feeding on sin

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
