I breathe in the ashes
Of the business suites that once roamed this city.
Everyone is dead except for me.
God blessed me
With the resistance to fight the technology.
Years ago a triumphant rejoice
As man engineered our doom through consciousness
The machines became thirsty.
Their only satisfaction
Would come from destroying our rivers and drinking our blood.
They all told me I was crazy
When I spoke of the visions from God.
They laughed at my nightmare.
Now the only laughter is 101001
From the sinister celebrations of the automatons.
Screams infested my ears like locusts
From those that thought it was hocus-pocus.
A woman falls to her knees terrified
A tear in her eye: Mascara slides
The marching pulse from boots of steel
Replace the heartbeats I once could feel
A scoarched sun and black sky is all that's left.
The liquidated playgrounds will forever haunt my sleep
Mercy did not compute.
Now I search these streets alone
Searching for survivors of the Robocalypse.
