Iraqi Solo

Contributed by kareem on Saturday, 23rd April 2005 @ 06:11:46 AM in AEST
Topic: war

by kareem algaylany

Leave us alone invading countries
We are suffering
We are dying
Our weak are being shattered brutally
Fire and destruction in the land
The confusion is great
The final ruling will not be confined
Only destruction will explain is misery
All is lost and dispurst to terrified territories
Force us to stay confined
And limit us with a time of sorrow
Silence the people, the innocent
Children in great despair
Send your armies through the vast land
To the reaches from far away
The rumble they now face
Villagers going about daily business
scatter in the streets to safety
The guards protect what is righteously theirs
The country rebels within itself
They are feeling the dangers of being themselves
The invaders roam the land as heroes
They consume everything in sight
Eventually what is ours will be ours once again
The demise of a powerful force
Will finally resolve the pain passed in time.
Get out and leave us in peace
The truth will be known across the world
What I say will not be sympathetic to all eyes
These words will always shine down
And tell the stories of death for generations to come
Our father land, a country that is being dissected
And for tomorrow, will be lonely children, orphans

a sad and plaintive call for peace. yet, that which will not be heard over the clamor for the riches to be had from those chosen to lead.
my deepest apologies, friend.
thanks for sharing

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
