Whispers on the Wind

Contributed by NightOwl on Friday, 22nd April 2005 @ 06:33:32 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

"The worst lies are said in silence..."
I don't remember who said it
But it's true

All I want is to hear your gentle, rhythmic voice
Soothing, embracing, enveloping me
But all I hear is silence

Silence of hatred,
Of betrayal
Of agony
Of pain
Of lies

But every day I think that I am going crazy...
I hear your beautiful voice on the wind
Calling my name so sweetly

With those three words I crave more than anything
"Erin... Erin, sweetheart...
I Love You!"

Tears roll down my cheeks
And I whisper back
"Never again..."

"The worst lies are said in silence..."

Sadly, so true. I like this part best:

Silence of hatred,
Of betrayal
Of agony
Of pain
Of lies

Better maybe that you don't hear those words again, as hard as it may be now... dry your tears NightOwl, and live for you.

:)

people that beg for comments have no respect for their own work. a person's work should be good enough that the comments are given freely and not given out of sympathy. if you do not think your poems are good enough to comment on without asking, why do you even post them in the first place? afterall, something that is said without being asked for means more than when its asked of. such disrespect cannot be condoned.

I don't see what is so great about this poem....other then I like the structure,

Its pathetic to beg for comments... Poems that people think should have them, will in the end give them to them...so write something good and maybe you will get comments that you actually deserve

Nice write-
I have not posted a poem in a short time-
If you write what you feel there is no need for
asking others to comment-
This is your work and if no one else likes it then who cares....
Trust in yourself and never allow anyone to sway your words for they are yours alone to hold...
Joe

This is well written. It does feel a little bit sketchy, like it could be filled out. The addition of more lyrical language (perhaps another image or two) would do it no harm. I'm speaking purely from gut feeling on that; it is a good and emotional poem.

Take care.

Andrew
