Trying Death.

I'm just waiting for the end,
now that I feel so alive.
Where is forever, that I begin,
it's a bullet wound; will my heart survive?
Take each tear and make a pool of dreams.
Dead, decaying hopes lay deep within each stain.
Every attempt to awake from this hellish nightmare,
puts me back to where I begun.
There's no place I'd rather be,
than hiding out with a gun.
Shoot for each lie, let the pain corrupt me inside.
Take my body, and tell yourself I'm still alive.
These words seem empty and my actions prove false.
My death seems celebrated, my birth a mistake.
The "eraser" I hold deletes all the pain;
I'll try to smile and pretend I'm not fake.

Heartbreaking poem, but it has a great flow. Excellent work. I really enjoyed it. |
