April Showers
-----
A cloudy day is forecasted
With a chance of rain
Time of year for April showers
As they arrive on the plains
Waiting are the trees
The flowers and the leaves
For a cold drink of water
Fresh from the seas
Springing from the ground
Plants of every sort
Outlining all the gardens
As if they were tiny forts
It’s this time of year
When the world seems to awake
From the long winter nap
It yearly likes to take
And for me, it’s just in time
For I’ve been feeling a little blue
For I’m an outdoors person
With a passion that runs so true
Too many months of being locked inside
Praying for spring to come
For when it finally does
I feel a victory has been won
