To a Girl and Summer Rain

Topic: dedicatedpoems

Your beautiful soul takes me away
It lifts me up to better days
And as I think and dream and pray
That your love will remain forever unchanged
Unlike the summer rain
That pours itself down my face and soaks my clothes
And while bare skin radiates I get a taste
That takes me away to this better place
With a beautiful girl and her beautiful soul again
Falling asleep to summer rain
Drifting down the water ways
Where it shall stay as life for her world
For this beautiful girl, with a beautiful mind and soul
So perfect that cannot be defined in words,
But I try every night in case I can get a smile
Cause it has been a while
And I can’t say I don’t miss you
When all I can think of is to kiss you
And feel your chest pressing against mine
Two hearts ticking and beating in time,
Synchronized rhythm leads to perfection
And you only get more perfect
And oh babe it’s worth it
Every time I get a smile from your face
It cuts into me like a dagger laced with perfection and beauty
