Hurting

Contributed by suzy on Tuesday, 24th December 2002 @ 07:30:00 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

You opened the doors of my heart
And helped yourself to my soul
The memories we made from the start
Are now what help keep me in control
Every since you left me standing alone
I haven't had time to really breathe
How could I let myself become so prone
To this thing called love that I just couldn't see
That it would destroy me inside and out
Leave me with an ache deep inside
Not knowing what it's really all about
Left vulnerable and unable to cry or hide
You've left your mark on me that's for sure
But in time I'll wipe away the stain
You won't make me feel so unpure
That I won't allow love back in again

Won't allow love back in again, huh? Now there's a promise to oneself that I'm quite familiar with. How many times have I said it? Once...twice...three times...oh, who knows. But we always come back for more, don't we? Whenever someone new comes along that gives you that feeling...or someone old, whichever...lol. You always gotta give love a chance. Better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all. It seems to me the happiness is worth the pain. That's what I believe. I hope you're able to love again. You might drive away someone amazing if you don't.

Wishing you love and happiness,

~ MoonlitAngel

Thanks for your comments on my poem 'Cry Me A Teardrop (At Least)' And now is my turn to give my comments to ya. This poem I must say it's good. Honestly. It starts in a sad mood and at the end, it seems to have a positive notion which is really good! Thanks for sharing your work. Keep poetry alive pal!

excelant, very heartfelt poem, thanks so much for sharing this, to share a poem of this type is to leave oneself exposed, as if without a skin, and i appreciate that you had faith in the fact that you were safe in doing so!

Lots of Love

PEACE
