Once, lost in a world
where nothing went right
I was often found groping
around blindly in the sunshine
of everyday, butting my
head against my every misfortune
This is how my life was.
It was my way,
Walking around aimlessly
with no true meaning to life.
I was swallowed up
by sorrow and strife
Bruising myself on every
illusion of who I really was
Trying to be a somebody
that wasn't really me
until the day I found You
My true self was not to be free
I woke up
as if from a dream
Everything now had a meaning
Everything was so new and exciting
It was like I had been reborn
Like I had come out from under a
dark spell
A curtain had been lifted
I could see the light
I saw the world
brighter with all my might
Now my days were no longer a race
There was now a smile
sketched on my face.
