The thunder of the stream

Topic: EmotionalPoetry

I could remember her so easily. The long curling hair. The passage of her fingers in the mirror while I shaved. The calm oceans of her breath calling our love an ending water. The smell of lilac on her clothes; the smell of time rising above us both, playing our coffee over the night. Her eyes over the course of the moon, threading together a laughter and sadness over every silent act of pain. I could remember kissing her. The train of her lips pressed against my lips. The sudden withdrawal, the awkward grace, the rain in her lips trickling smiles down her face. The calloused hands of my hands across her silver face.
Without her the moonlight is a foreign canvas pausing over the surface of an empty sea; my love is the stars opening to the mouth of an empty sky. Without her, the rivers of my voice run dry; the dust of my breath is lost to the desert sand; the wings of my laughter flutter and fall, conquering the gold and stone of her love.

I cannot find my way without her. She is the rivers of the mountains of Israel; I lay naked in her waters. Her voice is the thunder of the stream; I drink and I am set free.
I walk alone on an empty street. I am lost in the darkest alley. I am lost in the house of her name; I cry her name and she does not speak. I am condemned by the flesh of my flesh. I am without her, and without her I cannot find my way.
She is the shadow stolen over the moonlight, she is the faintest star cast away by the night. She is the depths of the deepest valley. She is the highest mountain. The highest mountain cannot claim her majesty.

I felt this so deep and moving I could blab on and on but nothing I say would do this justice
