Burnt Down Swingsets

Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Maybe trees do not sprout buds
And maybe springtime will never come.
Maybe I won't ever get the chance to drive away into receding sunsets
And maybe Boston isn't best for me.

These days have been passing more slowly than they've arrived,
But I think I will act slightly different this time.
And that's ok because you and I...
We always say that we'd like to take our time with this life.

We do not dream.
We haven't for as long as I can remember.
And that isn't very long.

Then again, maybe hoping for dreams to come true
Isn't what we're meant to do.
Because even when we go to sleep at night
You can't help but say to me...
"I hope the stars in all your skies send you the sweetest dreams tonight."

I'm sorry...nothing is happening.

Come on lets run down the street my love
We'll catch a bus off to Boston, MA.
With no one along
It's only eachother by our sides.
It's only us.

One day we're going to return back home
We can sail out to sea
Take pictures of the bright blue sky
Your eyes...
Will be my point of perspective.

Get lost in clouds
Our home seems so far down
I hope we never have to jump.

I enjoy hearing things that aren't actually there
When I'm with you...
It's pouring down rain,
and our eyes refuse to look anywhere

but...

Very interesting poem. You should go ahead and continue it. Where did you get the idea for the title? Is it because you are implying that you and your "lover" are no longer and do not dream like children? Anyways, fantastic write!!
